Monterey Transmission

I was beyond impressed and grateful to John and Maria, the owners. I went to Monterey Transmission to get a second opinion after being told my transmission needed to be replaced by another mechanic. Not only did they not charge for a diagnostic but informed me my transmission DID NOT need to be replaced! They are not only knowledgeable and professional but genuinely GOOD AND HONEST people! Today was so refreshing and debunked all bad stereotypes of how mechanics treat single women! I seriously cannot recommend Monterey Transmission enough!

I had an outstanding experience with Monterey Transmission. From the moment I walked in, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping me. They took the time to clearly explain the issue with my vehicle and provided honest recommendations without any pressure. The service was completed efficiently, and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations. It’s not always easy to find a repair shop you can trust, but Monterey Transmission truly delivers on reliability, transparency, and excellent customer care. I highly recommend Monterey Transmission to anyone in need of transmission service or repairs. I will definitely be returning for any future automotive needs. Thank you for the great service!

Excellent place to deal with when already stressed about car problems. Extremely knowledgeable. Owner operated for decades with a highly trained and experienced crew. John & Maria made me feel like I made the right decision bringing my truck to them. The only shop I could find that was experienced enough to work on modern 10 speed transmissions. My truck runs as good as new, with 160,000 miles.

I couldn’t be happier with the service I received at Monterey Transmissions. Maria and John are absolutely fantastic—trustworthy, friendly, and incredibly thorough in every aspect. They took the time to explain the work clearly and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. It’s such a relief to find a local family shop that genuinely cares about their customers. As someone that is picky, I felt completely confident leaving my vehicle in their hands and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable transmission/automotive service.
